FAQs

How long until my items are ready?

6-8 weeks for ceramic and glass pieces, and 4-5 weeks for pottery painting. These are estimates - busy periods may take longer.

We're a small, two-person studio managing 400+ pieces monthly. Each piece requires individual firing, glazing, grinding, finishing, and preparation - this is time-consuming and cannot be rushed. We do not provide daily updates or status checks. You'll receive one email from hello@firenest.co.uk when your pieces are ready for collection. Please check your spam folder for this.

Can I get updates on my pottery status?

You'll receive one email from hello@firenest.co.uk when ready. We don't provide status updates as we're a small two-person studio managing 400+ pieces monthly.

Do you have a phone number?

We operate email-only to maintain accurate booking records and respond thoughtfully to enquiries. Please allow 3-5 working days for responses. Our email is hello@firenest.co.uk for general enquiries.

Can I collect my pottery early/drop in to check?‍ ‍

No drop-ins allowed. You must wait for the collection email with access details.

What if my pottery breaks in the kiln?

Firing involves inherent risks we cannot control. We don't provide refunds but will try to help with solutions like refiring or credits where possible.

Can I bring my child to your workshops?

Yes absolutely, most workshops are suitable for all ages with adult supervision.

Do you provide food/drinks?

No, but you're welcome to bring your own refreshments.

Can I get a refund if I can't attend?

No refunds. We're a small, independent studio and refunds aren't sustainable for our business model. However, we're flexible! If you give us fair warning and a genuine reason, we'll do our best to reschedule you to another date - no problem at all.

If we need to cancel a class due to tutor illness or low booking numbers, we'll offer a full refund or alternative date.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is ample free parking outside the Studio.

Do I need to bring anything to the class?

No, all materials and tools are provided. Just bring yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting a bit messy.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting clay/paint on, everything does however wash out.

What happens if I arrive late?

Anyone arriving more than 15 minutes late cannot participate as it disrupts the class for other participants.

Can I take photos during the workshop?

Yes, you're welcome to take photos of your own work and experience.
